Republican Debate Tomorrow

Nov 27th, 2007 by Steph | 2

I am looking forward to watching the CNN/YouTube republican debate tomorrow. While not a republican myself, I want to see how the candidates respond to what seems like a lot of frustration by those they pretend to represent. I have seen a grandfather asking why he has been abandoned by the republican party, a small boyscout asking to be made to think in school rather than be left behind, and even Billiam the snowman in a repeat performance asking about global warming. But my favorite, even though there were no singing anythings, or flashy videos was a former conservative republican simply asking why the present party has chosen fear over liberty.

I enjoyed watching the creativity of the democratic videos, which seems to be somewhat missing in the republican batch, but what I have really loved about these videos is that they actually fulfill the romantic dream of everyman. There is a wide range of people – from cynics to retirees to school children to fanatics (there were a few frightening fanatics, actually!). I hope that this demographic range is represented in the chosen questions.

Looking forward to tomorrow!!
