i am looking for a temporary solution for this blog. i am busy reading and writing and doing all sorts of fun academic stuff, as well as preparing umeå’s first v-day. i really liked my last blog layout, but i got a lot of complaints about readability. so, this is my temporary solution until i can rework the picture style to reflect a similar structure to that of the HUMlab blog. i worked really hard on the design of that blog, but did not do the IE hacks. i need to learn how to do these hacks before i recreate the blog here. also, need to resize these pictures, but will have to wait until i get to work tomorrow where there are computers with photoshop. right now i am using the temp computer, as mine *still* is not here! (not a very patient person!)

also, we had a meeting today with interested v-day people. it was great. i work with a lot of interesting, motivated people who are serious about doing these types of things. so, until the violence stops, we will continue to fight against violence! i almost wrote against women and children, but there have been a rash rapes against men here in sweden. while the overwhelming majority of rape victims are women, we can not afford to forget any victim. we can not afford to leave anyone out of the discourse. this is a global problem, a serious problem for a variety of reasons, it is time that we take it seriously!
