informatics seminar
Nov 23rd, 2005 |
the informatics seminar went really well today. it started off a bit stilted, but generated an interesting discussion with interesting people
who are interested in technology. we discussed notions of network placement to a bloggers intrinsic/extrinsic motivation for writing, the place of the political blogger as journalist/opinionated networked individual, and of course, blogging as a process rather than a product. i believe that the informatics department has quite a few people that are very passionate about their work and inspired to learn and do more. i love having discussions with passionate people! you can throw ideas back and forth and expand and share knowledge. this is one things that i also find represented in my favorite blogs. they are written by people who are passionate about their topic and love to have a good bull session!
